I was the UX designer at Brighterion team, designing AI and ML-powered cybersecurity web applications. I worked on Rules Management and Case Management products, as well as features such as Aggregate Threshold, CMS Tenancy Management, and the ability to reopen closed cases or disable auto-assignment.
After the product was deployed, the new design brought in new customers and use cases after launch, generating millions in revenue.

Understand the AI Capabilities: AI products make decisions based on large data sets, so understanding the limitations and potential of the AI is crucial.

Clear User Expectations: Make sure that users understand when they’re interacting with AI, what it’s capable of doing, and how it benefits them.

Transparency and Explainability: Users should be able to understand why the AI is making certain recommendations or decisions. As a designer, I need to consider how to present the rationale for AI-driven actions in a way that's understandable, especially if the AI’s decision-making might impact the user’s workflow or decision-making.

Feedback and Control: Users should have a sense of control over AI-powered systems. Allow users to provide feedback to improve the AI or correct it when necessary. Also provides visual cues to present a sense of trust.

Understanding how to design for complex rules made me think deeply about edge cases. However, not all edge cases are highly likely to appear in user interactions, so learning how to identify and prioritize them is essential for making informed design decisions.

Proactive problem-solving and stepping up in critical moments. During a shortage of designers, I learned the importance of taking the initiative, helping the team stay on track, and contributing to key deliverables despite resource challenges.
